Safety Procedures

Facility Closure

If the center has to be closed down for an emergency, we will be at the Eaton Fire Station.  We will always carry the cell phone 302-5963, and have attendance sheets with us.  We will be making phone calls to all parents letting them know about our situation.

 

Fire Drills

The school will practice fire drills throughout the year.  When the fire alarm rings all classes will go to their designated areas.  Each teacher is required to have the attendance sheet, cordless phone and emergency bag.  One teacher will check the bathrooms to make sure everyone is out of the room.  Attendance will be taken at designated areas and children will be kept in a group until further notice from firefighters.

 

Missing Persons

If a child is missing, the Director or head teacher will be notified immediately so that the assigned staff can search the building and grounds.  If the child is not found, the Director or head teacher will take the appropriate steps to notify the police/guardian and conduct a search of the surrounding areas.

 

Tornado

In the event of a tornado, all children will gather in the designated safety zone.   During this time we will also be listening to the radio to hear the weather information.  The staff will keep the phone and the emergency bag with them.
